Last weekend I went with my host counsellor's church's youth group to Liseberg in Göteborg. It was a lot of fun. We road roller coasters and played games but I didn't win a giant chocolate bar:(. I road the wooden roller coaster twice. It was scary and I closed my eyes for most of it. But all the church people are really nice. We slept at a church in Göteborg which was fun because we slept amonst the pews and had to rearrange everything. There weren't any showers though which was gross. At Liseberg we all hung out in a big group but Elisa and Paula, another girl from Brazil, and I went off on our own a little. We went to the gift shop when everyone else wanted to ride more roller coasters. My favorite ride was the fairytale castle where we road around in vicking ships and saw machines act out different fairytales. It was a giant overwhelming amusement park like we have in Canada or the States, but it was fun because it was old and cute. There were rides that we went on that got us all wet and we road in the bumper cars which was so much fun for me because I miss driving. There were also tea cups that we road in. Malin didn't want it to spin because she was sick from the roller coasters, but the other girls spun it anyways. My host counsellor's daughter won two giant chocolate bars, a small chocolate box and a necklace hanger. But she spent around 40 dollars on it. Which really wasn't that much. I spent around nine dollars and didn't win anything. Oh well next time I guess. Paula, Elisa and I are going to go back around Christmas when they light it up with Christmas lights and have crafts and stuff. We slept in Göteborg Friday night and Saturday night. We went to the church service on Sunday. It was hard for me to concentrate because I didn't understand a whole lot. But my Swedish is getting better. The other day I understood what my math teacher said and at lunch I understood what the girls were saying. Sometimes when I am thinking about simple things like what I'm going to say or do I think in swedish. It is kind of cool but I'm still not very good at speaking mostly because I don't really have anything to talk about. I've taken up knitting with Elisa. PeO's mother in law is teaching us. She used to be a home economics teacher. It makes my hand hurt sometimes. I jammed my finger in basketball on Tuesday so that doesn't help my knitting. After school today I am going to Skövde to meet Jessica, a Canadian girl who's living in Mariestad. We are going to shop a little, I want to get boots and it is fashion week in Skövde, and we are going to have pizza with french fries on it for supper. Jessica is going to sleep over at my house because she wanted to see Tibro, which will take about ten seconds to show her tomorrow and then we are going to bake because it is my host grandpa's birthday on Sunday Maggies said she's bring the cakes so we get to make them. Next weekend I am going to see Signe in Denmark. Well I think we have to change classes now. Talk to you later,
Kirsten
