Hej hej!
I arrived in Gottenborg on Wednesday. My host mom and dad and sister picked me up. The flight was fine, Frankfurt is a maze, I went up, then down, then up, then down and all around to get to my gate. My family took me into Gothemborg when I arrived. It is really cool. It has old, green statues and a beautiful opera house. We had Italian sandwiches for lunch. Actually I haven't eaten any swedish food yet. On Wednesday we had Tacos and yesterday we had pork chops and for lunch today we had lasagna. I'm sure I'll have Swedish food sometime.
Yesterday my family took me to Hjo, a town on the deepest lake in Sweden, one of the coldest too, called Vättern. There was a pool there which was warmer so we pretty much stuck to the pool. Then we had ice cream from a shop in the harbour. I had mango sorbet. We fed the birds bits of our cones. After ice cream we went to Skövde to eat at the motocross teacher's house. I read his 3 year old daughter's books to help me learn Swedish. The motocross teacher and his family were very nice.
Today my host brother and sister performed at a retirement home. Amy sang and Gustaf played guitar. They are both very talented. Gustaf goes to a special music school in a different town. I think Amy will go there too when she gets back from Vancouver. Gustaf is also an amazing artist. After their performance we went to another beach. It was on a smaller lake so it was warmer and we actually made it into the water far enough to swim. Everyone around here looks so tanned, I guess that is because they are always at the beach.
Tomorrow Amy and I are going to her friend's going away party, at the beach and on Sunday we are all going down south to Hans, my host father's, mother's house. It is near language camp so they will take me to langauge camp and then I get to take the train home all by myself.
Well I'll write more later, and hopefully post some photos.
Kram
